Well, the Denver Broncos in their continued attempt in recent years to make the Oakland Raiders look well managed, have made another stellar move with the addition of quarterback Brady Quinn. Quinn be join the hall of fame laden quarterback roster of Kyle Orton and Chris Simms, making Bronco fans wonder ‘what the hell?’ and Raider fans wonder ‘can we win 6 games this year?’
Why in the world Brady Quinn would seem like a logical addition to a team with quarterback issue, I have no idea but the front office decisions being made in Denver the last couple of years seem to be modeled after the Raiders, and indeed, make some Raider decisions look smart. Unless the Raiders pull Tim Couch out of retirement, I am not sure a more bone-headed move could be made. I will give you 2-1 that Brandon Marshall will not make it to training camp in a Bronco uniform, so I guess then Denver can utilize a ‘wildcat’ type of formation with Quinn throwing to Orton lined up in the slot.
In any case, it does my heart good as a Raider fan to see Denver fighting with Oakland and KC so hard for that cellar position in the division. If we can just get San Diego to bring back Ryan Leaf then all will be well and we will see competition in the West again! Maybe Al Davis is on the right track?
