Today marks the beginning of a new FTOPS series of tournaments on Full Tilt, with a NLH $216 buy in with a nice million dollar purse. Obviously, FT has a lot of these tournaments, so the only reason they are of note is for the rich prize pools they offer. This one will probably pay close to $200k to the winner, which is not a bad spend for $216 buy in.
Of course there is a lot of different strategy that you need to employee for these events simply due to the large number of entrants, so these are the types of tournaments that take a lot of time to play. Learning how to money in these online events is not easy. They bring a large number of very good players. You have to really take a laid back approach to a tournament like this with thousands of players at the tables. There is certainly no need to employ a hyper-aggressive strategy in them, that’s for sure.
There is a new event starting every day, for about the next month and 45 events, so if you have a little bit of money you want to throw at a MTT, the FTOPS tourneys are as good a bet as any.
