Since I wrote a blog on what Full Tilt was doing to qualify players for the Main Event, I thought it would only be fair to make you aware of PokerStars huge qualifier tournament that is coming up.
June 15th (same day as Full Tilts massive qualifier! Coincidence?) at 16:30 EST PokerStars is hosting a massive Main Event qualifier where 200 packages will be given out. This means that at least 200 players will be given $12,500 qualifying packages to the WSOP Main Event. In case you missed it, that is $10,000 buy in and $2500 spending cash.
The direct buy in to this tournament will be $300+$20 which is the best deal you will find anywhere for a direct qualifier that gives away this many prize packages. Of course, there are satellites that range from a buy in of 220 FPP or $2.20.
PokerStars is on track to send over 2,000 players to the Main Event and this is pretty much the last “mega” chance to get in. I would guess there will be A LOT of players in this event, but still, with 200 seats guaranteed, you will have about the best chance for the least amount of money that you could ask for.
In addition, double VPP’s will be awarded for playing in all WSOP qualifying tournaments between now and June 30th. What this means is that you will be able to qualify for VIP status on PokerStars that much more easily.
Again, time is growing short to qualify for the 2008 Main Event, there are some pretty good options out there to choose from if you are still looking to get your seat. This June 15th offering from PokerStars is one of the best.
